BC's oldest city and its first capital, New Westminster is compact, walkable, and remarkably well connected. Its all-types benchmark is the lowest of the inner Greater Vancouver areas, largely because so much of its housing is condos.
| Area | All types | Detached | Townhouse | Apartment | 1-year |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| New Westminster | $719,600 | $1,356,900 | $854,200 | $579,900 | -8.2% |

In September 2026, 76 homes sold here: 9 detached, 11 townhouses, and 56 apartments — a condo-driven market.
New Westminster has one of the region's largest concentrations of heritage homes. If a house is on the city's heritage register or formally protected, that can limit what you're allowed to change on the exterior — so it's worth confirming its status early, along with the condition of original wiring, plumbing and foundations, before you budget for renovations.
